Who can open the vault?

Only someone who unlocks it with your vault password. It is separate from signing in, so a logged-in session is not the same as an open vault.

What happens if I walk away from my desk?

The vault locks itself after a period of inactivity, and you can lock it immediately yourself.

Is it only for passwords?

No. Entries hold the details a technician actually needs on site — device type, model, serial number, IP and port — grouped by client, location or project.
